How can I unhighlight the search results? It's useful to see them while I'm searching, but a half hour later, they're just annoying.

Thanks Leif. Mark, indeed, :noh[lsearch] disables highlighting until the next search. You can disable it permanently from the ViEmu settings dialog, and you can also disable for the current session with :set nohlsearch (this can also be included in _viemurc, similar to setting it in the ViEmu settings dialog).
