I have tried several variations, and keep getting the "License key does not appear to be valid" message.

Hello, this is often a source of confusion. It is necessary to enter everything between the dashed lines, starting with the name and email, and up to and including the alphanumeric signature you show in your email. There is a blank line between the readable part of the license key and the unreadable alphanumeric hash signature at the bottom, which makes it doubly confusing. This is a mistake I made when designing the key format many years ago, my apologies, and hope to design clearer formats in the future smile
