I just got a new machine and I forgot how to configure VS/ViEmu to highlight search matches, e.g. when I'm on a word and press *, all the words matching the word I'm on will be found and I can jump to the next one with *. I also have Visual Assist installed, if that matters. It worked on my old machine but I can't remember what I had to do.

Hi Roel,

In principle, it should work out of the box. Can you verify that the checkbox 'hlsearch' in Tools|Options|ViEmu is checked? Also, type ":set hlsearch" to force it on. Does it highlight search results after this?

If not, can you let me know what version of Visual Studio you are using? Depending on the version, going to Tools|Options|Environment|Font and Colors, and just clicking 'ok' may fix it. Knowing the VS version will let me consider extra possibilities.

Hmm stupid me - I thought I only had a licence for 1.x so I installed that, but it looks like this is a 2.x feature and that the licence I have works fine. Sorry for wasting your time! Thanks again for a great piece of software!

Yes, it was a new feature in 2.0+, but the license should just work fine. I'm glad it's fixed.

I do plan to upgrade the keys and protection system, as I've been recently made aware of a keygen crack out there sad
