Not sure if this is VS or ViEmu related but often (but not all the time) when working in VS2013 the edit will be VERY SLOW. Other actions in IDE appear to happen in normal time but the editor will take 10s of more to display a single character in insert mode. Pasting takes a long time, usually I'll wander away and come back in a few minutes. I see VS take a long time to do some tasks, such as creating a new project, but builds appear to be quick enough.
